Sojourners Place

When mental disorder, addiction, or just plain tough luck puts you on the streets, where can you turn? Emergency shelters will give you a place to get in out of the weather, but how do you get back on your feet? With no place to call home, how do you wash up, find a job, get your treatment? What do you do after 60 days, when you're just getting back on your feet, and the shelter says you have to leave

This is the plight of the homeless, and it's getting worse. With more people than ever losing their jobs and homes, the need is growing for effective programs that get people back on their feet.

Welcome to Sojourners' Place.

Food Bank of Delaware

Food bank of Delaware had over 10,000 volunteers donate over 39,000 hours of their time. This would be equivalent to hiring 19 full time staff! With your help we plan to exceed those numbers this year!

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat's Mission is to build affordable housing at no-profit through a combination of volunteer labor, 'sweat-equity' and no-interest mortgages. We act in partnership with the community as a diverse group, including individuals, partner families, faith groups, civic organizations, local schools and businesses. We reach out from Christian roots across denominational, faith, economic and racial lines to bring together people who are concerned for their neighbors. We strive to develop and empower individuals and communities through the construction of simple, decent homes.

Urban Promise of Wilmington

The mission of UrbanPromise is to teach children and young adults the skills necessary for spiritual growth, academic achievement, life management and Christian leadership.

Love in the name of Christ (Love INC)

Love In the Name of Christ is a proven model that networks local church ministries and church volunteers, across denominations, to help people in need. Through Love INC, churches and individual Christians are mobilized to work together, along with community organizations and government resources, to provide coordinated help to the poor and needy.

But more than merely providing goods and services, Love INC aims to meet people's needs with the love of Jesus Christ. Through Love INC, Christians are living out who they say they are by putting their faith in action and providing help, hope, and God's love to neighbors in need. They are building caring relationships with those who are struggling, and moving beyond the expressed need to help address the underlying issues that contribute to poverty and hopelessness.

Love INC's work focuses on six key areas that impact people in need, and nearly all Love INC affiliates provide supportive services in each area. Needs we address include Food, Clothing, Shelter, Health Care, Life Skills, and Family Support Services. The exact programs and services an affiliate offers depend on the needs of its local community.

Living Water International

On January 9th - 16th 2010, Crossroads made a trip to Mexico to work along side Tom and Sandy Basile and Living Water International.

It costs as little as 2500 dollars to make/repair a spring box in Mexico. In one village the digestive related diseases decreased by 80%. Kids are able to focus on their school and parents are able to earn a consistent living. Eleven people from Crossroads traveled to Mexico to rebuild two spring boxes. We had a great time and made many friends.

Living water would be a great organization to make a donation to or to consider doing a family or community group missions trip.
